(Pro version only) Converts from ASCII to EBCDIC. EBCDIC is the character collating sequence (order) commonly used on mainframes. Some characters cannot be converted because they exist in one character set but not the other. EBCDIC to ASCII and ASCII to EBCDIC conversion is usually done by the FTP program that performs the file transfer or download, but sometimes you may receive a file in the wrong format and there is no easy way to convert it. When the EBCDIC data file is moved down, ensure that it has correct blocking (mainframe talk for correct placement of CR\LF at end of every line). This is normally done when the file is moved down. Alternatively, use the Convert End Of Lines filter to put in line feeds manually. If the ASCII to EBCDIC conversion doesn't suit you perfectly, use the Base Map On Filter List command to customize the translation.
