GPF errors with Applix application suite
ResumePipe generates GPF errors when it handles dual-format
emails (where the body of the message also appears as an HTML attachment). This
error seems to be generated by Applix, not ResumePipe. You can work around it by
disabling the HTML attachment processing using the Attachment Types button on
the Attachments Tab.
Why aren't some attachments handled properly?
Firstly, make sure that your MS Word installation includes a
full complement of conversion filters. If not, you may not be able to process
all attachment types. Click here for instructions
on installing all of MS Word's conversion and import filters.
Secondly, the Attachment Types button on the Attachment tab
lets you configure how various attachment types are handled:
- Open (using MS Word). The
attachment is opened in MS Word. The Word conversion/import filters for the
specified attachment type must be installed for some extensions to work
successfully, otherwise the file may appear as garbage when Word reads it
- Handle manually. The email is displayed so that the
attachment can be manually opened. Any attachments that can be handled
automatically will be. The email is treated as though it has not been
processed, so the email will not be moved to a new folder and the subject
line will not be changed. The attachments is logged in the exception report
of the status window. This option is most useful for compressed attachments
such as .zip files
- Ignore. This is the default for an unlisted
attachment type. The attachment is treated as though it doesn't exist.
- Print to default Printer.
- Save to Manual handling folder.
By default, any unlisted attachment types are ignored.
