If you have multiple files, you should merge, sort/remove duplicates and then add the header. Please see attached.

I'm excited to say that there is much progress. However sadly, only the first line would comply the rest would just follow the old formatting. Here i've attached the screenshot.

When i tried to just add an extract matches filter|easy pattern for

, it returned me an empty tabulation other than the header. Do you know what i missed?

The pattern match must be failing - you need to provide more sample data for us to work with. Purchasing TextPipe Pro will also let us allocate more time to your detailed consulting request.

Hey there,

Yes i love textpipe but i need to get at least this issue resolved to get my company to purchase it(i'm just a manager). There are alot of areas which i can see textpipe becoming our savior. Thank you for your patience and support. Do let me know if it is possible to resume to have this issue resolved. If not, i'd understand. Will still try to push for the approval to get textpipe.

P.S. All the format in the text files are entirely the same. Random company names and data can be replaced just to see if it works.

Hi,

I've tried the 2nd filter you sent but it seems there is an inconsistency. As in it can only process one file out of the rest that i have. I would love to attach the files here but i think there is a restriction on the file extension.

Would it be possible if we change the approach a little? As in since all the data are formatted with each data in every line, would it be possible to put whatever is on the left to the top and whatever on the right to the bottom regardless of the title? This way it is processed per line instead of per title.

However i do recognize that for this to happen there needs to be a separator to mark the left and the right values. I have also noticed that the ":" character cannot be used as in the company descriptions there is colon usage as seen in the below example.

So i think to simplify matters, what we can do is replace the colons that we use for the titles to the pipe "|" symbol. On top of that, if we can somehow get textpipe to add in a tabspace after processing each line into the horizontal alignment, it would be a legit separator in the csv. Can this be done?

Tab delimiters are no problem. The colon presents no problem as far as I can see.

Can you please upload more data as a .zip?

Yes - TextPipe can be used to edit text-based scripts of any kind - we use it here to edit Inno Setup (*.iss) scripts which are similar to installshield scripts.

I'm sorry i did not notice this fact until after my post. Which is why i edited it. I guess this is as far as you can assist if i am right. Thank you for you help all this while. I'm not sure if i can still push for this but i will continue to do so. The company has been trying to just pay programmers to do such work but i have been against it as i can see quite a bit of potential in text pipe. Thank you for your patience and effort all this while. Do wish me luck in getting this approved.

I know this has taken alot of effort on your end too which is why i want to do my best to get this budget approved. You see its difficult because for programmers that we hire, it just costs us like US10-35 per solution. However if you look at text pipe in the long run would be most cost savings and the support is excellent. Hence you can see the dilemma i am in. At the same time i understand your predicament too, you want to increase sales what more to one whom you have already put in effort to assist. And i know i am taking up alot of your time. I'm sure you would have your reservations because i am not a decision maker and would still require a working solution to even push for this approval. All i can say is god bless and that you've been very helpful. Wish me luck. =)

Yes i know, very common. As a service provider, we have faced so many of these replies. I am too used to it myself. However in my case, to save cost for the company and get promoted IS in my list of agendas. Moreover, i was thinking of proposing to be a distributor for data mystic for all your drop dead gorgeous solutions. To say, "Good luck Sheila :-) Normally what happens at this stage is companies say 'thanks very much' and don't pay...." is too silly to anyone who realizes what a goldmine textpipe is. Especially for a programming-hopeless like me.

My target market group are corporate. So pretty surely its higher chance compared to individuals or only end users. So yea. Thanks for the well wishes.
