Detachpip 5.6 slows down Outlook 2003

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem as Rud-gr. Whenever I receive any email, irrespective of size or number, Outlook completely freezes for up to a minute. This didn't happen before installing DetachPipe.

Relevant info:
DetachPipe version: 5.6.6
Outlook 2003 under Windows XP.

Receive an average of 50 mails per day.
Approx 400 emails in Inbox.
Attachments folder currently contains 205 attachments (oldest is 28th August), all with different names. Max size is 5mb, most are in the x00k range.

Settings:
"Detach automatically using settings below"
Mask: <Path>\[Folder]\[Filename].[Extension]
Compress attachments: OFF
Retain attachment icon: ON
Ignore smaller than: OFF
Ignore younger than: OFF
Ignore embedded: ON
Confirm each action: OFF

I'd appreciate your views / suggestions, as this is seriously irritating.

The current version is 5.7.5 and can be downloaded from http://www.datamystic.com/downloads/download.html?product=DetachPipe

It now keeps track of the date of the last-checked email in the Inbox, and makes sure that it doesn't check those older emails again. We tested it with a customer with 7000 items in their inbox and it worked really well.

V5.7.4 and above (October 9, 2008) now handles large Inboxes much better when receiving emails - only checks the
new emails for attachments.

I've just downloaded and tried to install the latest version and I get a message saying that the set-up files are corrupted. Tried downloading again. Same result.

Thanks for that.

I've installed the updated version and Outlook does run considerably quicker.

However it no longer scans automatically on delivery of an email into my inbox. Settings are exactly as before (as above). 'Instant detach' runs fine, as does processing a folder.

Hi Philip,

We now use the date of the last received email to restrict which items are processed. In doing this, we make use of the 'Short Date Format' found in the Control Panel under Regional and Language Options.

Can you send me the example Short date format you have?
