Email Pipe and support desk

I use Outlook 2002 for customer support. But as we get busier its begining harder to keep track of replies to the questions and to monitor what areas we have had most support call problems. Mosts support calls have a standard response but often there is some tailoring of the respone required.
Can email pipe be used to extract and classify support emails and then to records the support responses sent? Or would it require a combination of products - perhaps its just taking the appication too far.
I'm looking for something simple and easy to use
