Manually renaming attachments

Postby brianness » Fri Jan 30, 2004 4:29 pm

Will DetachPipe allow me to rename an attachment as I "detach" it?
Thank you,
Brian Ness

Not currently. Why would you want to do this?

I would like to do that because we normally save multiple revisions of documents as they get passed between lawyers. Just apending a "1" at the end doesn't work.
Purchase Contract 29Jan04.doc
Purchase Contract 30Jan04.doc
Purchase Contract 2Feb04.doc

Right now when saving attachments I either File-SaveAs in Word and give it a meaningful name, else I save the attachment then rename the file.

Thanks.

Can you add that capability? Presumably there is a dialog box of sorts to choose which directory to save an attachment. Maybe in that dialog box add the editable file name?
