Connecting to mysql database

Postby fhumayun » Sun Apr 27, 2008 12:09 pm

Hi,
I'm trying out the demo version of Datapipe to connect to a mysql database in order to remove garbage (extended ascii characters) from certain tables. Would someone suggest a connection string, please?
Thanks,
Faisal

Do you have the MySQL ODBC driver installed on your system?

I sure do; be much obliged if someone could guide me through building (an abstract) connection string.
Thanks.

Did you use the [Build] button beside the connection string?

See the FAQ at http://www.datamystic.com/datapipe/ole_db_setup.html

I have; however, I don't appear to be making / understanding precisely the correct choices to build a proper connection string with use for mysql ODBC (installed from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/5.1.html ). I'll try the FAQ link, thanks!

The FAQ guided me properly: Got it to work! Thanks again.
