Strange bug in the Replace filter

My input USFM file has 66 books, with each book starting like this: \id GEN \mt Genesisy NB. The file has Unix style EOLs. My filter to add a Running Header and Table of Contents markers is as follows: Perl pattern [^(\\mt )(.+)$] with [\\h $2\n\\toc1 $2\n\\toc2 $2\n\\toc3 $2\n$1$$2] [X] Match case ...

Using a configured Diff Tool to apply a patch?

It might be a useful enhancement to provide a TextPipe filter that can use the configured Diff Tool to apply a patch to the input file being processed.

Might that be feasible?

David

Help for Trial Run Area | Extra Options | Diff Tool

In TextPipe 10.7.x , there's no help for Extra Options | Diff Tool in the Help page for Trial Run Tab . Please provide this in the next release. cf. Diff tool is also an option in the File Grid ribbon, yet the help there is minimal, and says nothing about how to select two files to compare with the ...

Unicode support beyond the Basic Multilingual Plane?

It rather looks as though TextPipe does not support Unicode characters beyond the Basic Multilingual Plane. cf. Unicode 11 added Plane 16 to the standard. 100000..10FFFF Supplementary Private Use Area-B See https://www.unicode.org/versions/Unicode11.0.0/ I've just been testing the filter Convert Num...

Re: Subtle bug in Convert Numeric HTML/XML Entities to text

Since posting the issue, I have found a workaround. If the filter Convert Numeric HTML/XML Entities to text is plac1ed under a Restrict to each line in turn filter, the output file is without error. I thereby conclude that the bug must have some relation to data caching or memory management. David

Subtle bug in Convert Numeric HTML/XML Entities to text

Hi Simon, I have just encountered some very rare errors in the output of the filter Convert Numeric HTML/XML Entities to text . My input file contains 31,286 NCRs that are to be converted. These are scattered through out a UTF-8 text file that has 36,888 lines and a total of 7,219,971 characters. Th...

Re: Has something changed for \Q...\E in PCRE ?

Hi Simon, Something much worse must have changed since my longstanding filter was working OK. Such external replace list files no longer work when the search type is Perl . They only work when the search type is Exact . NB. This bug seems to occur only when the replace list filter is a subfilter of ...

Some external replace list files no longer work when the search type is Perl

One of my very old filters no longer works properly. It calls an external replace list (tab delimited file) in which most of the PCRE search text items are wrapped between \Q...\E Has something changed recently for \Q...\E in PCRE ? I currently have TextPipe Standard 10.7.2 installed. IIRC, it was w...

Re: Environment variable @inputFile@ is truncated

Installed TextPipe 10.7.2 today.

Did you know that Help About shows it as TextPipe Standard 10.7 x32 Single User Edition ?

i.e. The version has not been incremented!

Environment variable @inputFile@ is truncated

When I use the variable @inputFile@ the last character of the filename is missing!

e.g. For a file called 01Gen01.htm the variable @inputFile@ gave only 01Gen0.

I think this is a software bug.

The same issue affects the equivalent @Filename@.

Unicode 11.0

Unicode 11.0 was released by the Unicode Consortium on 2018-06-05.
See https://www.unicode.org/versions/Unicode11.0.0/

Which is the latest version of Unicode that TextPipe supports ?

Best regards,
