Monitor clipboard size
ClipSize is a simple program that shows you how much memory the
clipboard is using. This can be very useful when you are using a computer with limited
memory or with memory-intensive applications such as image editing or desktop publishing.
Most MicroSoft applications give you the option of clearing large
amounts of data from the clipboard when you exit them most other programs do not.
ClipSize fills this niche by both displaying the current size of the clipboard and
allowing you to clear it.
ClipSize installs itself in the status area of the task bar (near the
clock), and when the mouse is moved over its icon, it displays the current size of the
clipboard.
A right click on the icon displays a menu that allows you to clear the
clipboard, exit ClipSize, display the About dialog or go to the DataMystic web site.
ClipSize runs under Windows 95, 98 and NT.
- I am pleased to report that my use of ClipSize 2.2 has improved the
efficiency of disk operations with Win95 OSR2, using only 16M memory chips. Using Paint
Shop Pro 5.01, while on-line, requires a lot of memory that I cannot spare with all the
cropping [work] I need to do. Clearing the clipboard reduces the demands on virual memory
with fewer swap file operations. Thank you! - David Fifield
- I've just had a look at ClipSize; very cute indeed!
